Call For Papers: Generative AI in the Networking Community

The ACM SIGCOMM Computer Communications Review (CCR) seeks editorial papers for a theme issue on the topic of the use of Generative AI in the Networking Community.

Everybody is aware that the rapid proliferation of Generative AI has raised serious issues for the networking community,  and the scientific community as a whole, related to both teaching and research activities. In the classroom, pedagogical challenges arise with respect to instruction and evaluation. In research, the community is struggling with determining an appropriate use for Generative AI in investigation, authorship, and peer reviewing.

CCR is soliciting editorial papers that express opinions on how the SIGCOMM community should respond to these issues. While this special issue of CCR is open to a wide variety of topics, we particularly welcome contributions that will help the community gain insights in the current status and/or generate discussion on community-level solutions.

All accepted papers will appear in a special theme issue of SIGCOMM CCR, to be published in April 2027. These submissions will help seeding further discussion, and help the community to articulate clear policies and actions.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Papers must be submitted by January 15, 2026 for consideration.

Submissions are limited to 6 two-column-formatted pages (excluding references and appendix). Papers are expected to be self-contained within the 6-page limits:   however, if you need more than 6 pages, feel free to delegate material in appendix; at the same time, papers will be evaluated on the merits of the ideas expressed and not page length: as such, do not feel obligated to fill up 6 pages if you can effectively communicate your ideas in fewer pages.

Submission should follow the standard CCR formatting guidelines, available at https://ccronline.sigcomm.org/instructions-for-submission/.
